Anglers Lodge

Anglers Lodge and River Front Restaurant sits on the banks of the Henrys Fork of the Snake River. Guests staying at the lodge or eating outside on the deck can enjoy the beauty of the sunshine sparkling on the water and the birds singing.

“We want it to be a place people can relax and hear the birds when they fly by and watch the fish rise,” Manager Cory Inouye said. “We want it to be an experience.”

Guests come from all over to fly fish or visit Yellowstone or both and enjoy the calming effect Anglers has always had.

“Anglers is one of those places that’s kind of a haven,” Inouye said.

The lodge was built in 1997 by Dave and DeDe Eby. The family owned and run business was one of many businesses that suffered a hard blow during COVID-19. They were forced to close the restaurant for 2 years and had a difficult time finding staff. However, in the past year the lodge and restaurant have reopened and returned to the beautiful relaxing lodge it always was.

“Last year was fantastic,” Inouye said. “I would call it turning a corner.”

Inouye started working for Anglers Lodge in April of last year.

“It was just the idea of a place this beautiful that had struggles and is an important part of Island Park that I thought I needed to come in and just bring it back,” Inouye said.

The Eby family has been at the hotel from the beginning and the staff are all local to Island Park.

“We actually have kids that are working that have family that have been here before,” Inouye said.

Inouye hopes to work together with all the other businesses in Island Park to make the area a great place to live and to visit.

“I think Island Park is completely different than every other entrance of Yellowstone,” Inouye said. “There’s a different vibe. It’s a little slower. It’s a little quieter and its something I think people are looking for.”

Though they have begun working on renovating the rooms Inouye stressed this was not to change anything but to just update some things.

“I think the most important thing with Anglers is it’s the same that it was back when Anglers was at its busiest moments,” Inouye said. “Everything’s back in place. Nothing is changed. It’s still the same great people.”
