  July 11 Ashton A welfare check was called in for a man on Golden Eagle Drive by a woman in Oklahoma. A grass fire was called in on the north side of Ashton by the railroad tracks.  Island Park An ambulance was called for a 2-year-old boy with a fever and shivering at Springhill Suites. An ambulance was called for a man parked at a bar in Island Park. The man had had a headache and neck pain earlier in the day. After drinking a Rockstar and finishing his construction job he began to experience extreme pain in his head and began vomiting. An ambulance was called for a possible broken hip on Cherokee Road. A man in Utah who owns property on Huckleberry Lane asked police to check his property for squatters due to his power bill going up despite nobody being there. A report was made from Last Chance General Store about panhandlers in vehicles who left headed North. An ambulance was called for a 74-year-old woman who fell and had gashes and skin tears and needed help getting up. July 12 As

  July 5  Ashton An arrest was made for driving while possessing on Highway 20.  The boyfriend of a woman on 1300 North called police from Salt Lake City that he thinks she may have shot herself. A vehicle ran someone off the road while headed north up the Ashton hill.  A vehicle was all over the road and changing speeds between 50 and 80 on Highway 20. Island Park An arrest was made for driving while possessing on Highway 20.  Someone called police to tell them a vehicle was riding his bumper.  July 6 Ashton Someone turned in a wallet at Jacksons Food Store. A traffic complaint was called in for a truck with a camper headed North from Chester.  Island Park Police conducted a welfare check on a man on Henrys Lake Road when his brother let police know he had expressed suicidal thoughts and had not checked in for treatment like he said he would.   July 8 is Math 2.0 day which celebrates the importance of Math. The first math ever used would have been knowledge of numbers using animal bones to count objects. Egyptian and other civilizations beginning to use algebra and other more advanced mathematics.  While many kids can struggle in this subject and begin to dislike it, math can be fun. Solving a math problem can be like solving a puzzle or a riddle.  "I like being able to use what I know to figure out what I don't know," Ashton Elementary School principal Collin Stewart said. "For me, that is what math is all about." Connie Day, teacher at Island Park Charter School, loves teaching her students the subject. "Math is not about following rules or steps to get answers," Day said. "That's boring!   1. What is your goal for this year? Learn all the student's names and develop positive relationships with them 2. What do you look forward to this year? Meeting new people and getting to know the community 3. What is your favorite thing about being a principal? This is my first year as principal so I'm not sure what my favorite thing is yet but I would say working with kids. 4. What is your biggest challenge as a principal? To be completely honest, parents who want exceptions made for their children when there has been a blatant disregard for rules 5. What advice would you give to students?   June 27 Island Park Someone reported a semi headed north with fire and smoke coming out of the top of the stacks.  A campground host at Box Canyon Campground called police after he told a group of people not staying in the campground not to bring ATVs in and the people were verbally rude in response. The group remained in the gate area trying to get in after being asked to leave.  June 28 Island Park Someone called police about three ATVs not on the trail but in the road between Macks Inn and Last Chance. A nose complaint was called in for a rental property on Yale Kilgore Road that had a train horn after the caller had called the rental management company the day before.  Someone reported a truck headed South on Highway 20 crossing the center lane.
